Description

This is a biennial herb with coarsely hairy stems and leaves. It grows about 1-3 feet. It is normally found in waste places and roadsides. Dainty purplish blue flowers appear late May-October.

Expectorant (for bringing up phlegm)

Emollient (for soothing and softening the skin)

No evidence was found by the scientists to the expectorant function.
Its function as an emollient is yet to be evaluated.
