The twigs of the white mulberry tree are used to promote circulation, dispel dampness, relieve wind and spasms, and treat arthritic and rheumatic pains of the extremities. The herb has also been used for high blood pressure and edema.Anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antipyretic, analgesic.
Invigorates the blood, clears blood stagnation. This herb is most effective in warm febrile diseases when there is blood in the sputum or nose- bleeds, or when there is excessive menstrual bleeding. It is also used for amenorrhea, tumors, carbuncles, or blood stasis due to traumatic injury. It can be used topically for non-draining sores or abscesses.
Dosage
3-9 grams.
Safety
Moutan peony should not be used by women who are either pregnant or experiencing excessive menstrual flow. It should be avoided when there are cold signs or yin deficiency with excessive sweating.
