Unani Medicine : Dyspepsia
A weak digestive system coupled with overeating or eating heavy, spicy foods leads to dyspepsia. Delayed digestion of such foods leads to putrefaction of the matter in the stomach and the intestines. There is a feeling of an extremely full stomach, loss of appetite and general discomfort. The patient may feel nausea as well. Belching leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
Suggested Treatment:
In the case of nausea, induce vomiting by taking warm salty lukewarm water. After the patient has vomited, he should be given 3 gm of white cumin seeds and 1 gm of salt with 10 ml of vinegar. If nausea still persists, a brew of 6 gm of mint leaves boiled in water adding 3 gms. of small cardamom is added should be given to the patient to drink.
